DRAPER, Utah – About 300 inmates were evacuated briefly after a fire started at the Utah State Prison located near the point of the mountain.
Firefighters responded to the facility and put out something that had been smoldering in the ducts of the heating and air conditioning system.
There was smoke in the building, but the inmates have now been brought back inside. Fire crews are tearing down some of the duct work to survey the extent of the damage.
There were no injuries reported.
